Cruise Description:

Come experience an area that has been labeled by The Nature Conservancy as "One of the Last Great Places".

Leave from our dock at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam and cruise south. Across the river is the Goodspeed Opera House and the East Haddam Airport. As we head down river, your Captain and crew will narrate about local history, point out areas of interest and inform you of the river’s flora and fauna. We tell you where a local eagles nest is (may catch a glimpse, hard with the leaves on the trees). We may even see our resident Bald Eagles!

You will also get a great view of Gillette's Castle, Connecticut's greatest tourist attraction and the Chester/Hadlyme Ferry, the second oldest operating ferry in the United States. We will continue further down river, turning on the Deep River/Essex border.

There is seating for each individual aboard RiverQuest. Passengers can be out of the sun, wind, drizzle in our cozy cabin area. Or sit outside on our open deck.

If you'd like, make the cruise easy, bring your lunch, snack and/or favorite beverage with you.  Bring your camera and binoculars (we have a limited supply on board for loan) on all cruises, you never know what you'll see.

Please check in at the dock at least ten minutes before departure. RiverQuest leaves on time! NOTE: If we meet our capacity, we will leave the dock before our scheduled departure.

Parking: There is PLENTY of FREE parking. RiverQuest is normally docked on Dock #3. When you come in the park, go to parking lot #2, closest to the boat.

Each season on The Connecticut River is beautiful:

Spring: Osprey and other migratory birds have returned, foliage is unfolding displaying lovely colors, warmth of the Sun!

Summer: Cool breezes, Osprey and their hatchlings, resident Eagles and their babies. The river is alive! We also offer Sunset Cruises most evenings. Different price, see Sunset Cruise page.

Fall: The crisp air, beautiful foliage colors, serene river.

Winter: (different price and cruise length) Eagle Cruises, many wintering birds, an enjoyable, tranquil time to be on the river.

Note: The captain reserves the right to change the cruise itinerary or cancel a cruise anytime he feels that there may be a weather issue.
